The drum was then hoisted out of the water. Notice how the rope harness has shifted past the reinforcing rib in the barrel and is nearing the barrels center of gravity. If it slips past the center, then the barrel will tip in the harness and likely fall out of it.  All hands are warned to remain clear of the barrel by 6 feet until it is lying safely on deck.
